Seirenkai Jujitsu

Seirenkai Jujitsu is also classified as a Japanese style and is distinctly different in its technical and philosophical approach from modern forms of competitive Jujitsu. Seirenkai Jujitsu's emphasis is realistic self-defense with a focus on appropriate response training. Seirenkai draws on the style of Jukido Jujitsu as its primary source, while infusing many techniques directly from Kodokan Judo, Aikido and older Jujitsu styles. Striking techniques from karate also play a key role in the Seirenkai Jujitsu formula.

Seirenkai Jujitsu training emphasizes:

While Randori (free-play) is included periodically for fun, Goshin-Jutsu (self-defense) is the sole technical purpose of Seirenkai Jujitsu training. As opposed to many modern Jujitsu styles that emphasize a "mixed" or "eclectic" syllabus, Seirenkai is very much aligned with a traditional Jujitsu emphasis in terms of core principles, technical execution and teaching approach. Yet, Seirenkai is modern in its strict adherence to safety in practice and its focus on self-defense for contemporary society.
